The Shire of Carnarvon Council held a special meeting on 20 December 2024 at the request of the community and the Blowholes Protection Association (BPA) to consider reopening the toilets at the Blowholes Reserve over the festive season. The Council unanimously voted (5/0) to reopen the toilets from 24 December 2024 – 31 January 2025, ensuring that facilities are available to the community and visitors during the festive season and school holidays.
The Blowholes Protection Association has generously offered to assist the Shire with cleaning the facilities during this period. The Shire will resume full cleaning services from 6 January 2025 and expresses its gratitude to the BPA for their assistance and commitment to collaboration.
Visitors are kindly requested to be respectful of the facilities and to supply their own toilet paper and other resources, acknowledging the volunteer efforts in maintaining the service.
The Council also extends its thanks to the community members who attended the recent meeting to share their concerns. Reopening the toilet facilities will significantly enhance the visitor experience and contribute to a more comfortable and enjoyable stay at the Blowholes.
