WORK EXPERIENCE 

The Shire of Carnarvon believes young people are the future, and there should be a future for every young person in Carnarvon. Therefore, the Shire welcomes students interested in work experience placements whenever operationally possible. Students are placed primarily to observe and learn rather than to undertake tasks; however, when appropriate, they will be given the opportunity to be hands-on. Unpaid work experience placements can be a great way to gain experience or explore a job or industry.

If you are a student and would like to be considered for work experience, please send the information below to hr@carnarvon.wa.gov.au or submit an Expression of Interest here:

• What do you want to learn, experience, observe and/or explore?
• Which area of the Shire of Carnarvon would you like to undertake your work experience in?
• What days are you looking to do the work experience and over what period of time?
• Which education facility are you currently studying at?
• Attach a copy of your current resume.

It is an expectation that all successful candidates for a work experience placement complete the Shire of Carnarvon’s online induction system prior to commencement.
