CARNARVON AQUATIC CENTRE 

After extensive refurbishments over the winter period, the Aquatic Centre is looking bright and beautiful and will be ready for you to enjoy for another season of sun, water and fun.

The Shire of Carnarvon Aquatic Centre is located at 21 Babbage Island Road, next to the Skate Park and across the road from the Carnarvon Police Station.  It is open from the start of the September School Holidays and closes yearly at the end of the April School Holidays.  The facility has a 50-metre pool and a toddlers' pool, with a very active Swim School and is the Home of the Carnarvon Amateur Swimming Club.

Admission fees are payable by cash or EFTPOS at the Carnarvon Aquatic Centre. 
Passes can be purchased at the Carnarvon Aquatic Centre.

All Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied and supervised at all times by a parent or a designated carer over 18 years of age.

Aquatic Centre Season

The Carnarvon Aquatic Centre officially opens at the beginning of the school holidays for September/October and closes at the end of the April School holiday term.

Public Closures

Management may close the Aquatic Centre to the public for special events, notification will published in advance on the Carnarvon Aquatic Centre Facebook page.

Facilities 

50M Pool

The Carnarvon Aquatic Centre offers an outdoor 50m x 6 lane Olympic Pool.  Swimming laps is a great way to improve fitness and tone up.  As it’s a form of low impact exercise, there’s less risk of causing an injury and it can help in injury rehabilitation.

Toddlers Pool

The toddlers, learn to swim pool that ranges in depth from 30cm to 80cm and is fully shaded.  It is comfortable for adults and children to enjoy relaxing in the pool or having a play with other small children.  All children in this area must be fully supervised.  

Playground

Our shaded playground has a soft fall surface, contains a slide and other play equipment.  It is open to children under the age of 10 only and they must be accompanied by a supervising adult. 

In June 2021 the 50m Pool and the Toddlers Pool were repainted giving them a fresh new look.  If you are after a cold drink or something to eat, our well-stocked kiosk has drinks and hot food for sale. 

Children’s Parties must be booked at the Aquatic Centre with the team, additional charges may apply.

Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult. 

At our Aquatic Centre, we pride ourselves on being a Royal Life Saving Society endorsed swim school.  All Swimming Instructors employed with the Carnarvon Swim School hold AusSwim Teaching qualifications, Senior First Aid, Resuscitation and Aquatic Rescue qualifications which are all updated on a regular basis.  Swimming Instructors at the Centre are also trained Lifeguards and the Centre holds training and professional development opportunities for all staff throughout the year.  All staff at the Centre holds a current National Police Clearance and Working With Children Check

The Aquatic Centre is an endorsed Watch Around Water Centre
