Carnarvon Mural

Summary: The Carnarvon Mural which is funded by the Future Is Me program is being created to beautify the area as development is set to take place at Van Dongen Park. This project will empower our youth to take ownership of community and public spaces.

Northwater Housing Development

Northwater  development

Expected Completion: June 2025                           Budget: $1,365,000

Location: Northwater Estate

Funded: Regional Economic Development (RED) Grant – Gascoyne Development Commission (GDC)

Contractor: Northern Aspect Construction

Summary: Design and construction of two new 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom residential properties in the previously released Northwater Estate Stage 4 development. The properties will be available to the public rental market and aims to provide more housing for the local workforce in Carnarvon.

Tramway Bridge Refurbishment

Location: Tramway Heritage Trail, Town Beach

Funded: Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI)

Consultant: GHD Group

Summary: Project includes a structural condition assessment and report that will inform priority refurbishments of the Tramway Bridge. From the report a design will be completed for the construction portion of the works to commence. The Tramway is both heritage listed and a historic element of Carnarvon that requires works to refurbish it to a serviceable nature.

Civic Centre Upgrades

Location: Woolshed, Carnarvon Civic Centre

Funded: Seroja Community Resilience, Department of Fire Emergency Services (DFES)

Consultant: Lambert & Rehbein Engineers

Contractor: Not yet awarded

Summary: Upgrading infrastructure elements of the Civic Centre Woolshed as Carnarvon’s designated evacuation centre to a more comfortable and fit for purpose building. These elements include new weatherproof doors, new internal linings and flooring and upgrading the courtyard, kitchen and ventilation amenities.
