The Shire of Carnarvon is proud to support local artists through an Artist Capacity Building Programs fostering creativity and community connection.

We’re thrilled to announce that local artist Shaydon Indich and Leanne Gillham will be participating in the program working alongside 𝐓𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐚 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐧 from Meraki Boho o to bring a stunning ‘Carnarvon’ themed mural to life!

This vibrant artwork will transform the side of Dunnings Fuel Station (formerly Shell) into a visual celebration of our town’s unique culture, landscape, and stories.

For Leanne, who is also a teacher, this mentorship opportunity is a crucial step in her artistic journey. "As a teacher, art is my way of inspiring others to be brave and dream big."

Shaydon, a proud Carnarvon-born artist, is excited for the chance to contribute to the town’s beauty while gaining valuable experience. “Most of my work is abstract, so this will challenge me in a new way with representational painting. I’m also looking forward to Tay’s mentorship and collaborating with another Carnarvon-based artist. It’s awesome that we’re involving local youth, and one day, I’d love to design my own mural. My work is unique, and it would be amazing to see it on a large scale.”

This initiative highlights the incredible talent within our community while enriching public spaces with meaningful, locally inspired art. Stay tuned for progress updates and the final reveal!
