Yesterday the Shire Depot hosted a BBQ to mark the start of the 16 Days in WA campaign. This annual campaign serves as a powerful reminder of the role each of us plays in preventing family and domestic violence.
We were honoured to welcome guest speakers David Batty, Kameli Rova, and Kyalie Moore from
GRAMS - Geraldton Regional Aboriginal Medical Service, who shared insights about their
We Can Together Men’s Intervention Program and the ways each of us can contribute to making Carnarvon a safer place for all. Their program has been co-designed by
Stopping Family Violence which holds men accountable for violence against women and children.
During the event, Shire staff contributed to creating a communal wreath to honour those affected by violence. The wreath will be placed at the purple bench on the Fascine during GRAMS community march this Friday 29 November, at 10am commencing in front of 6701 Waterfront Cafe on the Fascine. We encourage everyone in the community to come together and participate in this march.
