The Shire of Carnarvon's Community Growth Fund has been designed to demonstrate the Council's commitment to supporting communities in the region by providing financial and in-kind support to activities that build capacity, encourage participation, and make positive and ongoing contributions that align with the Shire's Strategic Community Plan.
The Shire of Carnarvon has three rounds per year, and are considered by the Community Growth Fund committee after the closing date for each round:
Major Project Support Grant
The Major Project Support Grant supports a project or event which has significant economic and/and cultural importance to the community and is recognised as being specific to, and for the betterment of the Shire of Carnarvon.
Example of eligible activities:
- The project or event contributes significantly to the Shire's regional profile and economic benefit, such as the Gascoyne Food Festival.
- Major projects or programs where the Shire of Carnarvon's funding could be used to leverage additional funding.
- Support for major events and projects between $5,000 and $10,000.

Community Support Grant + Gascoyne Games Participation Grant
The Community Support Grant supports organisations and the planning and development of local community events and projects that will assist in building community capacity and promoting community cohesion.
Example of eligible activities:
- Financial contribution to ongoing organisational expenses, such as Rates, previously supported under the Rates Concession Donations.
- In-kind support for usage Shire venues such as Basketball Courts or Civic Centre.
- Support for smaller community events and projects between $1,000 and $5,000.

Small Assistance Donation
The Small Assistance Donations support an event, activity, service or endeavour for not-for-profit or benevolent organisations.
Example of eligible activities:
- In-kind support for the usage of Shire venues such as the Swimming Pool or Civic Centre.
- Small donation towards covering the cost of expenses for a community group or club to deliver or participate in an activity outside of its core programming.
