Installation of Public Defibrillators (AEDs) by the Shire of Carnarvon

The Shire of Carnarvon is pleased to announce the installation of two publicly accessible Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to enhance the safety and wellbeing of both our community and visitors.
These life-saving devices have been strategically installed at:
- Shire Administration Building – Front Entrance
This initiative addresses a critical gap in emergency response coverage within Carnarvon’s town centre, where large numbers of residents, visitors, and staff are concentrated daily. With heart-related emergencies requiring immediate action, publicly available AEDs dramatically improve survival rates and outcomes when used promptly.
The Shire identified this need through its Workplace Health and Safety Committee, supported by local health statistics showing increased cardiovascular risk in regional communities. In partnership with St John Ambulance, the Shire secured a budget-saving two-for-one purchase arrangement, enabling broader community protection.
We encourage the community to familiarise themselves with these AED locations. Their presence ensures a faster response to cardiac emergencies and supports a safer, more prepared Carnarvon for everyone.
