The Shire of Carnarvon is pleased to announce the renaming of a section of Rushton Street to DeBoni Street, in honour of the DeBoni family's significant contributions to the region's agricultural history.

The initiative was brought forward by Mr. David Guglielmana, who advocated for the recognition of the DeBoni family’s establishment of plantations in Carnarvon during the late 1920s.

After careful consideration, the Council supported the proposal at the February 2024 Council Meeting. Following this resolution, the application was forwarded to Landgate for assessment, which has provided its in-principal support for the renaming.

In accordance with the Council's decision, information about the proposed name change will be shared with the community. The final decision on the renaming will be made by the Minister following this public notice.
