Carnarvon Litter Legends

Last Friday marked the first meetup of the Carnarvon Litter Legends, a new community group led by our wonderful residents Wayne & Jeanette Taylor.

Everyone gathered at the Carnarvon Senior Citizens Centre and took to the grounds and surrounds with provided with Keep Australia Beautiful bags, claw-clippers, and gloves. The effort was bolstered by Gentle Gym participants who came out for their walk, grabbed a bag, and leant a hand. It was remarkable the difference made in just 30 minutes!

Following the clean-up effort, all participants received a coffee voucher to use at The Deck Cafè, 6701 Waterfront Cafe, Kestrel Cafe, or Taste of Italy by Valeria. These vouchers are valid until 31 December 2024 and are proudly sponsored by the Shire of Carnarvon through our Clean Community Coffees program.

We are hoping this can be an ongoing community program for Carnarvon. So, if you want to see this continue running, please come along and get involved!

Carnarvon Litter Legends meet-ups are held on Fridays at 9am:

9 August – Waterfront Cafe (Keep Australia Beautiful Week)

16 August – Arboretum

23 August – The Deck Cafe

30 August – BP Roadhouse

6 September – Old Pioneer Cemetery

13 September – Massey Bay

20 September – Oyster Creek

Join us this Friday at 9am at Waterfront Café for a cleanup along the Fascine!
