Temporary Road Closure for Remedial Works – Robinson Street CBD

Published on Tuesday, 14 March 2023 at 4:22:10 PM

Works will commence Monday 20 March 2023 on Robinson Street to complete bitumen seal repairs prior to tourist season. This work requires temporary closures of Robinson Street. Temporary closures of both Robinson Street carriageways will be required. Full access on at least one carriageway will be maintained at all times.

The majority of work is required on the eastern (Barry Evans to Toyworld side) carriageway.  Work on the eastern carriageway will be coordinated to minimise inconvenience to school traffic. Work may take up to three days to complete.

Detours will be in place as required via Olivia Terrace and Camel Lane.

Tenders for reconstruction of the entire eastern carriageway have now closed and a report is being prepared for consideration by Council. These repairs will ensure that the road remains trafficable until the full reconstruction is completed later this year.

Please follow the directions of all worksite signage and traffic controllers.  We apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause and every effort will be made to ensure the work is completed as promptly as possible.
