The Shire of Carnarvon is seeking community feedback on plans to install security fencing at the Pioneer Cemetery to protect this significant heritage site and its infrastructure. The project involves the installation of Garrison-style security fencing around the cemetery perimeter, with designated entry and exit points. Future security upgrades will include electronic time-locked gates to manage access more effectively.

The Shire of Carnarvon is pleased to announce that it has secured funding from the Department of Transport to facilitate critical upgrades to the Carnarvon Airport. This funding, up to $8 million, has been approved as part of the 2024-2025 State Budget and will be used to ensure the airport’s pavement is suitable for unrestricted operations of REX Airlines Dash Q400 aircraft.
