Do you want to learn more about the impact of fast fashion as well as crafting/repurposing salvaged textile? Then this is for you!

Did you know that Australians are the second largest consumer of new textile in the world after the US? That’s about 27kg of textile per person, per year on average.. So are we a fashionable nation? But what’s Fashion anyway?

Let’s have a chat about the textile industry, about the true cost of fashion today, fast fashion vs sustainable fashion, the easy, achievable and fashionable solutions..

Join us for an interactive workshop about Textile and waste. The workshop blends hands-on crafting/textile repurposing with knowledgeable insights.

What you will achieve during the program:

  • Increased understanding of textile and fast fashion industry’s impact during the first hour of the workshop.
  • Learning and/or improving your crafting skills using second-hand/salvaged materials
  • Creating the following to take home: A dog toy or a shopping bag from old Tshirts; or a wall organiser from old denim jeans..
