Love seeing our streets clean and beautiful? Looking for some gentle exercise followed by a social coffee?

Take pride in our town and help keep our streets beautiful with the new Carnarvon Litter Legends group!

Join us at 9am every Friday morning for some gentle exercise and socialising as we meet at different locations around Carnarvon to pick up litter.

Afterwards, enjoy a coffee on us or collect your coffee voucher to use at a later time. All equipment is provided—just remember to wear enclosed shoes.

Wayne and Jeanette

Wayne and Jeanette Taylor are the driving force behind Carnarvon’s Litter Legends, this community-led initiative making a significant impact on keeping Carnarvon Beautiful supported by Shire of Carnarvon..

Every Friday, they load up their ute with equipment and, alongside local volunteers, clean up litter hotspots around town.

The Carnarvon Litter Legends program evolved from the Clean Community Coffees initiative, which was funded by a $3,500 grant from the Keep Australia Beautiful Council. This program encouraged residents to pick up litter in exchange for coffee vouchers redeemable at local cafes. Wayne and Jeanette quickly emerged as standout participants, often collecting multiple bags of litter while redeeming only a single voucher, demonstrating their commitment to the cause over personal reward.

Their dedication led to the creation of the Litter Legends group, which focuses on sustained litter prevention and community engagement. Each week, they coordinate cleanups, distribute equipment, and ensure the proper disposal of collected litter, inspiring others to join in their efforts.
