Library - Books Galore
The George Gooch Memorial Library is located in Stuart Street at the rear of the Council Offices and its opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm; Saturday 9am to 12 noon. You can contact the Library on Phone (08)9941 0060; Fax (08) 9941 0099.

Membership
Membership to the Library is free to all permanent residents of Carnarvon providing ID with Carnarvon address - Drivers Licence, Rent Receipt, Car Registration, Rate Notice or Medicare Card.
Temporary residents may apply for membership to borrow books with the following ID required - Medicare Card, Drivers Licence, Passport and Birth Certificate (any 2 mentioned) with $20 refundable deposit (2 books) or $50 refundable deposit for a family membership (6 books). Lending period on all items is 14 days.
Members of other WA Libraries can become a reciprocal member of the Carnarvon Library if they present a current library card from their home library and a proof of identification.

Word Processing
$2/hour / Photocopying - Enlarging and Reducing - 20c per A4, 30c per A3.
Foreign Literature
Foreign literature books are available in most languages.
Other Services Provided
- Mail Service to Outlying Stations: Books are selected, packed and dispatched free of charge on the mail runs every fortnight to any station people who wish to request books for loan.
- Home Delivery for House Bound: Books are delivered weekly or fortnightly to any members who are unable to visit the library. Large print and cassettes are available for sight-handicapped reader.
